It's a Cookie Exchange!!

I've had an idea, I think it will be fun, and YOU ARE ALL INVITED!! I'm hosting a Bloggy Cookie Exchange! It will be on Friday, March 30. It will be a "Come and Go Affair", so you may come and go as you please thoughout the day. All you have to do to participate is bake up a batch of your favorite cookies, bars, or whatever yummy dessert you choose, take a picture to share, and post your picture-- with the recipe-- on your blog and link it back here! Then, on party day, you can check in here, sign the Mr. Linky (which I'm sure I'll be able to get to work!), and we can all go cookie hopping! And in return, here is what I'm offering you...THE RECIPE. Yes folks, I am going to post my super secret recipe for "Painted Cookies". Now, the first time I made these cookies, I was told not to share the recipe with anyone because that is what made it special...however, I no longer use that version of the recipe. I have developed my own version, and while I don't share it with people here ('cause then they wouldn't need to buy my cookies!), since ya'll don't live here, and you don't buy my cookies anyway, I'm going to share it with you. And I am going to TRY to post either, step-by-step pictures, or a video to make it easier for you to see how I make the cookies complete with some tricks of the trade to make your cookies come out as close to perfect as possible. So, now that you're all drooling all over yourselves in anticipation, you can leave a comment to let me know you are going to participate, and you can email me for the code to the button if you want to post it on your blog.

Okay, I'm going to try this if I can get my ducks in a row by then..:)) I actually have a pretty mean chocolate chip/oatmeal cookie that my kids would be delighted if I actually baked again! :))

Good Idea!

Karla,
I hope you come back here to check for this message! I can't seem to find your email anywhere, and Blogger comments are "no-reply". So, just email me directly at kidsandcakesetc@austin.rr.com and I'll send you the code!

Thank you so much for taking the time to make the videos for the cookies. I would very much like to have your recipe for the cookies and the icing you use. I am not a professional, just a mom who loves to bake for her family. I guess I was really late in finding the videos and missed the exchange. Would you email me the recipes if it is not too much trouble. Thanks again. JoAnna

Dear Melody, I followed your advice from youtube to your blog to find out your cookie recipe. Could you possibly share it? I tried my first batch today with a recipe I found in one of my cook books.
I was intrigued with the technique since I find the method very similiar to painting with a thick glaze; I am an artist. I found painting the cookies a wonderful way to express myself in a new medium.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Hodges
