The fun will Kick-off with a SUGAR BOMB on Friday May 15th. Susan is encouraging everyone to purchase a copy (and maybe a few for friends) of Nothing But Trouble anytime during the day on May 15th. Every one who purchases a copy of the book will be entered into the contest to win a Sugar Spa Basket. Easy. And for every additional copies you buy, you'll gain an additional ten entries into the contest. So just let her know how many copies you bought.

The party will continue all month
with a blog tour and chances to win copies of Nothing But Trouble from the blog tourists!
View the Schedule here.

The Sugar party will conclude in a day of celebration on Friday June 19th with a day long ONLINE Sugar Bookclub Party. Susan will be giving away prizes, answering questions, hosting a live chat, and generally getting herself into some "Trouble".

I'll be posting my own review of this book tomorrow, but I wanted to make sure you all got a chance to get in on the fun today!

Tell your friends...or better yet, host your own Sugar Party!

This Is Huge!

Ya'll, I'm writing this post ON MY PHONE!!! One of the things that has bothered me about Blogger was that although I could read blogs on my phone, I wasn't able to leave comments unless it was aTypepad blog. I couldn't leave comments on Blogger blogs, and I couldn't post from my phone.

BUT THEY FIXED ALL THAT!!!

And here I am typing a post from cheer practice! Of course, I can think of nothing to blog about, but I'm here anyway...JUST.BECAUSE.I.CAN!!!

I guess I should go now and find out what else I can do now...I wonder if I can post pics and videos from my phone now too??? Okay, I'm off to try and be geeky!

Kelli Needs Our Help!

Hello everyone! I had a Wordless Wednesday in mind for today, and then I had a whole other post in my head to write, but this morning, I read that Kelli is moving back onto the kidney transplant list and she needs our help to find a donor.

Operation: Find a Kidney for Kelli

Kelli is one of my very favorite blogging friends, and we share a history of kidney troubles. Unfortunately, Kelli is on daily dialysis and is in need of a kidney transplant. She'd really like to have a living donor, and although she never thought she'd do it (and really didn't want to), she has come to us for help in finding one. I know that she was hoping to just live with the dialysis until a kidney became available, and she was willing to just wait her turn. Since she has come forward asking for help in finding a donor, I know that this means the dialysis is no longer working well enough, and things are probably getting a bit scary for her and her family. All that to say, we are trying to get the word out to find a living kidney donor for our sweet friend, Kelli! She needs someone with a blood type of "A" or "O". I'm an "O", but since I have kidney disease myself, I'm not an option. Her amazing husband isn't a match, and her children are too young to be donors. She has no other family options, so it is up to a stranger to help her.

So, if you have a blog, please go here and grab the button, and post it on your blog. We're hoping that someone will see this and be able to donate a kidney for Kelli. And when you're all done with that, head on over to Living In Grace and get to know Kelli for yourself if you don't already. She is an amazing woman and so FUNNY! Trust me, you will not be sorry. And if you have time to hunt through her archives, look for the story about being stopped by security in the airport...it's a classic!

At Least I'm Still Cold in Church!

I have not mentioned to you, my internet friends that I have been suffering from some pretty severe headaches of late, but I have. Really, really severe. And of course, I lived with them for more than a month, trying every over-the-counter medication I could find to get rid of them. When it finally occurred to me that my arms were not long enough to hold my book out far enough for me to properly focus on it, and that I was spending a great deal of time during the day squinting at things across the room, I considered the fact that perhaps my headaches might just have something to do with my eyeballs!

So, I made an appointment with Dr. Dennis (no, I'm not kidding) and after an exam and a visit to LensCrafters, I was rewarded with the following statement, "Yes ma'am, your bi-focals will be ready in 7-10 days." Um, excuse me? What was that?

Ah yes, welcome to the joys of life in your forties...

Because I had all four of the children with me (where else would they be?), they chose my frames for me. It's taking me awhile to get used to the new face I see in the mirror, (yes, I can now see my face in the mirror!) but I hear that they are very hip, and happening...I'm not so sure how hip bi-focals can really be, but I did get the no-line type, so no one has to know! So how about we just keep that little detail between us, shall we? (And yes, I'm aware that this is not a very good picture.)

And because I know you're scratching your head about now...as for being cold in church? Our church is freezing. I take a sweater with me even in the summer because it is so cold in there. Occasionally, however, I will see some poor woman across the room madly fanning herself. There can be only one reason for this my friends...hot flash! Therefore, as I sat in church on Sunday with my new bi-focals, I found I was still able to find something to praise God for...you guessed it....AT LEAST I'M STILL COLD IN CHURCH!!! Hallelujah and Amen!

Better than a defibrillator...

I called my husband at work this morning...He said, "Hello?" I said, "We have a baby!!!" He said, "WHAT?!?!?" I said, "A. had her baby last night." He said, "Oh, you scared the "beep" out of me." LOL!! I think I've just discovered an alternative to the defibrillator!

Anyway, A. is my niece. My first niece actually. And last night she had her first baby, and my 1st grandnephew. I have 3 grandnieces, but this is the first grandnephew. And because we are all mama's, and we always want to see pictures of babies...

Isn't God's creation amazing?

Well, I'm off to see the little guy and then I have a cake and some cookies to get finished! Pictures to follow!

What a Loser!

Okay, I know I've been gone for awhile...computer crashed again (errrr!), but I do have some big news to share. I mentioned in a previous post that I've been watching reruns of "The Biggest Loser" and have been so very impressed by their successes and by their fitness level after just a few months on the program. In fact, they had an episode where two people who had been previously kicked off the show were able to return after losing weight on their own at home. The thing that struck me was that these two returned to the ranch having actually lost more weight than those who had stayed on the ranch, however when it came time to start working out with the group, they were struggling to keep up. They had concentrated only on weight loss and had not been doing the strength training that the others had done. THEN I watched as all of these very large people competed in a triathalon and they all completed it! I was so impressed that I decided that this was the way I wanted to lose my extra 12 pounds.

So....I joined the "Biggest Loser Club" online and got started with the new diet and the workouts. I am pleased to report that at my first weigh in, I had lost 4 pounds!!! I don't expect to drop that much every week as my metabolism adjusts to the new diet etc., but I am very pleased so far with how it is working and how I feel! My next weigh-in is Friday morning. I'll let you all know then how I did.

In the meantime, I have been making cakes and cookies, and will update when I can, but I'm still trying to restore some things to the computer here, and I'll be spending quite a bit of time on that for awhile. I've also still been cooking breakfast and dinner each day for the family and have found some great new recipes with this new diet that I'll be sharing soon as well.

Now I must get back to the laundry so I can get that finished and then start dinner. Hopefully, this thing will stay up and running and I'll be back again soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
